A Press TV program devoted to the RAND Corporation’s report, “The Mujahedin-e Khalq in Iraq: A Policy Conundrum” [.pdf].

The anti-Shia Islamic-Marxist terror group, led by Iranian dissidents backed by the U.S.—to spark ‘regime change’ in Iran, is being expelled by Iraq. U.S. officials were “not happy” with a recent Iraqi raid on its camps.

Backing the group “offers lessons for dealing with unusual militias in future military actions and for providing better training for field commanders and enlisted personnel”, according to the RAND study. Former members refer to the group as a “cult”.

Another group backed by the U.S., Jundallah, has claimed responsibility for a suicide attack in southeast Iran on Sunday that killed 49.

Press TV’s “Fine Print” goes through the RAND study and interviews guests on the group’s history, role in the region, operations from Washington and the U.S. double game with the organization. M.E.K. is also referred to as the “M.K.O.”.
